We are an organization graced by the passion, talents, and commitment of our people, and together we are creating community.
To ignite in all people the passion for meaningful living.
At EMA, we believe that each person is a gift, and graces us with their unique talents, passion, and calling. And we believe that we exist as an organization to create community, where relationships can grow and deepen, and where meaningful life and work is possible for everyone. In short, we believe that when people are connected to each other in relationships, given access to what feeds their soul, and have the opportunity to contribute to a purpose larger than their own, meaningful life and work happens. Meaningful living will be different for everyone, so our Vision is to ignite — spark, stir up — the desire for meaningful living in everyone, and to create the environment in which it can happen.
Therefore, in order to achieve our Mission and Vision, we are creating an organizational culture where we VALUE:
- People: We believe in the power of relationships
- Passion: We believe in living inspired and inspiring lives
- Purpose: We believe that together we are better
- Permission: We are free to be authentic and courageous
- Promise-keeping: We are accountable to one another
At EMA, you are part of a rich heritage that began with the vision of providing meaningful living. Though rooted in our past, our heritage shapes who we are in the present, and inspires who we will be as we reach into the future. Our heritage springs from grace and the power of relationships. Grace, quite simply, is a gift, a free gift. Who we are and all we have at EMA began with the grace of Frank and Viola Beasman's gift in 1970 of their dairy farm of 385 acres, 3 million dollars, and their Vision of a home for aging men and women. But their generous gift was the fruit of their relationship.
Communities were created where countless lives have been, and will be made, more vibrant and meaningful. From the power of relationship, and all the relationships that have been created and sustained since, grace continues to flow.
Presently, the EMA community includes:
Fairhaven is set in the lush farmland of southern Carroll County, Fairhaven's spacious, 300-acre campus reflects its pastoral surroundings of woods and cornfields. The community preserves a sense of unspoiled countryside as you stroll the wooded Nature Trail, you'll soon see why Fairhaven is a special destination.
Copper Ridge provides outpatient and residential care for the memory impaired. Copper Ridge offers a team of nationally recognized professionals and is on the cutting edge of care for the memory impaired.
Buckingham's Choice is a relaxed and comfortable place to put down roots. Surrounded by farmland the community offers sweeping, peaceful views of the Maryland countryside. In this rural setting each day is welcomed with enthusiasm for inspiring a day of meaningful living.
